About Me

My name is Jeff Langan. I am 22-years-old, and live in Niantic, Connecticut.

I am a senior at Eastern Connecticut State University. I am studying Communications, and minoring in History.

Over the last couple of years, I have had the privileged to be involved with many different internships. In the spring of 2010, I interned at NBC Connecticut. I was able to write web articles, and go with reporters and photogs, and shadow them. In the summer of  2010, I interned at The Day Newspaper, in New London, CT. I was able to go out on my own, and put together video pieces on different events around Southeast Connecticut.

Along with the different internships, I have been involved in a couple of clubs on campus. For the last three years, I have been with TV22, which is a student-run news show. I have been able to produce the news show, as well as shoot-and-edit multiple packages that were aired. I also write for my campus paper, the “Campus Lantern.” I mostly write for the Sports section, but have dabbled in a couple other sections as well.

I have been a sports fan since I was a little kid. I played soccer from second grade, up until my freshman year in high school. I also played baseball and basketball for a handful of years.

Ever since my family and I visited Denver in 1996, I have been a fan of the Denver Broncos and Colorado Avalanche. I have been a Red Sox fan since 2001. Other teams I like are the Boston Celtics, and follow the Cleveland Cavaliers. I also am a NASCAR fan, and my favorite drive is the 48, Jimmie Johnson.

Along with sports, I am a huge fan of drumming. I started in third grade, and continue to drum. The last three summers, I marched with the 7th Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps for the last three summer, finally ‘aging-out’ in 2010. I taught the drumline at Montville High School since the Winter of 2008.
